Fall 2007
Hunters, the Harlan County area is expecting
another great year. Game numbers appear normal
to above normal and habitat conditions are the
best we've seen in years. Above normal rainfall
has most habitat conditions in prime shape.
Pastures and wooded areas are lush, ponds are
full and the lake is way up. Dove, small game,
pheasant and Quail numbers appear normal. Turkey
numbers continue to increase and deer herds look
healthy. Many locals are reporting more large
bucks than in recent years. Waterfowl conditions
are some of the best in years as ponds are full
and lake habitat is abundant. Trees and shrubs
are flooded in the lake bottom and many birds
remained through the summer. For more information, please email us at
