Fall 2007
During the fall, expect fish to be found
on the main lake areas. While some species will
utilize coves, backwater and the river inflow,
most numbers will be found near deeper water.
White Bass and Walleye
are becoming more predictable and easier to
entice by jigging, cranking and trolling. Target
points, humps and drops adjacent to shallower
water. The fish will feed along these areas
early and during the day, but will forage into
shallower water during the evening hours. Some
Gulls remain at Harlan until freeze up and they
can still give away active fish. Although you
shouldn't expect large quantities of schooling
fish, don't leave an area quickly once you've
caught one. Fish at this time of year are
usually congregated on structure and can be
caught consistently in a single area throughout
the day.
